Have you ever had a fashion orgasm? I’d heard rumors about them, but I never experienced one for myself until yesterday while I was clicking through photos of Milan Fashion Week at work.

Dolce & Gabbana’s runway collection featured
the most beautiful dress I’ve seen in a long time, and it had my heart. It features two of the biggest trends we’ve already mentioned for this Fall: lace and animal print. The fierce leopard print and white, girly, embroidered eyelet in the dress offset each other perfectly.

Unless I someday when I become a millionaire-esse I can’t afford the dress, but in the meantime, I can recreate the contrasting look in my own, inexpensive way for Fall!

URG Trend: Leather and Lace

The Urban Glam chick is a mix of tough and sexy which is why the mix of leather and lace (which is all the rage this season) is the perfect trend to try. What’s great about this trend is there’s no need to max out your Amex to get it. You likely already own either one or both of the textures and if not, hit your local thrift for cool vintage finds. How to wear the new socks and heels trend

I'm loving the sock and heel trend this season, but it can be a bit tricky to pull off. Keep in mind that wearing socks will visually cut off your legs, so if you're not willing to lose a few inches of leg height, this trend may not be for you. Here are a few tips for successfully wearing socks with heels:

• Choose thin socks made with a nylon blend. Cotton socks tend to be too thick and can stretch out or sag.
• Make sure the top of the socks hit at a slim part of your ankle or calf for the most flattering look.
• The easiest way to wear the look is to match your sock color to your shoe color.
• Your skirt or dress hem should be short - mid thigh or higher.

A good pair of socks is a fairly inexpensive investment, so this is an easy way to experiment with your fall look. Have fun with it and good luck!!

Metallics & Gold Foil

The Tip: Paint a layer of clear basecoat and messily apply gold foil onto your nail tips with a tweezer. Wait until dry, crumble the excess gold foil off, then secure with a layer of clear topcoat. To rock the look with gold polish, use a small piece of plastic to block the parts of your nail you don't want to paint, and randomly reposition it on your nail as you apply gold polish to the tips with short strokes.

The Tip: Don't match the nude shade too closely to your skin tone, lest you want to look like you have mannequin hands. Go a few shades lighter or darker, and choose a color with a high gloss.

The Tip: Some heavy-duty nail glue will ensure your decals stay put. Layer a fast-drying topcoat over to set everything in place. If you want the look but aren't ready to commit, look for polishes with large pieces of glitter for some subtler razzle dazzle

U.R.G Hot Trends: Mixing Prints



A cool way to get more mileage out of your wardrobe and be different than the rest is to take two or more different prints and mix them together for an eye-catching new ensemble. Some of our fave celebs like Rihanna, UK actress and model Tolula Adeyemi (pictured above), Solange Knowles, and POP magazine editor-in-chief Shala Monroque are all fans of the look.
Mixing prints may seem difficult, but can be pulled off using these tips:

* Go opposite in scale (i.e. mix smaller prints with larger ones).

* Pull it all together with a solid color (either a jacket, shoes, or purse, etc.)
