Weekend Beauty Hot! or Not…: Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Tia Mowry-Hardrict, Jennifer Hudson, and More!

It’s the top of the week yet again, Glams! Hope you all had fabulous weekends! Celebs were out doing fabulous things like promoting their new videos, new TV shows, and new hair. Let’s take a look at the hair and makeup, shall we?

Rihanna and Nicki Minaj were photographed on the set of their new joint video “Fly”. I am on definitely on board with Rihanna’s new longer red hair with deep burgundy low lights. Her makeup is also very much on point (that purple eyeshadow makes her eye really pop). HOT!

Nicki looks cute in her green glitter liner and Barbie pink lip (likely her infamous Pink Friday collaboration with MAC). While the lashes aren’t exactly the first thing an everyday girl like us would pick up, they work for the animated rapper. HOT!

Then a slew of celebs were out for the 2011 Winter TCA Tour to talk about their new TV shows (and networks).

Wendy Raquel Robinson just gets better with age. She was banging back in the 90s on “The Steve Harvey Show” and has such a gorgeous glow and hotness about her now.

Rapper Trina was looking gorgeous in this Twitpic snapped by her pal and fellow rapperLudacris. She was helping promote his new liquor line. Love the hair and makeup. HOT!

Business mogul Angela Simmons was also spotted in a Twitpic. One half of Pastry showed off her new blond ‘do. I think the blond suites her. I’d love to see how she wears it out with her outfits.

And finally Jennifer Hudson was seen out at the Gem Awards this weekend. The singer is literally glowing—like she has a GE building inside of her or something. Her makeup and hair are just gorgeous. Go ‘head Ms. Hudson.

Nicki Minaj Covers V Magazine

Nicki Minaj continues to saturate your TV Screens, Airwaves and favorite publications. Her latest accomplishment is the upcoming cover of V Magazine’s Spring Preview 2011 Issue. She also sat down with E! Online on the set of “Fashion Police” recently and talked about her upcoming projects.

You just shot the music video for your next single “Moment 4 Life,” featuring Drake. What are you working on next?
We’re shooting the video with Rihanna for “Fly” this weekend. We’re going to save the world in more ways than one with the video and that’s all I can say about that… I love Ri-Ri! I mean, when she’s not grabbing my ass she’s a sweet girl.
Who are some of your favorite artists outside of hip hop?
I like everyone. I don’t listen to music based on genre. Like, I’ll hear a song and then I’ll live for that song for like months and I’ll be like, “Who the hell is that?” I listen to Taylor Swift. I like Coldplay. I listen to gospel a lot. I listen to anything that’s just beautiful music.
Would you do a song with Taylor?
Of course!
Personally, I think you should do a song with Lady Gaga, who you’ve been compared to in the past.
A lot of people say that to me! I’d definitely be open to it, yeah… I mean, Gaga is badass. Being compared to greats can never bother me.
What does all your success mean to you?
’m proud that women, female rappers that come in this game after Nicki Minaj can seeI that, you know what? There is a chance for you to sell just as much as the boys and to be recognized. And you don’t have to feel like, because you’re a female rapper, you going to not be recognized. And so for that alone, I’m proud. I’m happy.
Lastly, are you single?
Yes. I’m single and ready to mingle [laughs].

Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday Goes Platinum

After five weeks on the shelves, Pink Friday has officially sold one million copies. According to Nielson Sound Scan, Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday album has been certified platinum.  Her album has also beat out Kanye West’s “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy” in sales each week since it’s first week release and he has currently sold just 30,000 more units than she has.

She tells MTV, “A part of me expected it, because I wanted it so bad, but I never saw all of this”. If you aren't one of the million who have it yet (legally) GET IT!! Congrats, Nicki!

Kanye West & Nicki Minaj Crushes The Competition With First Week Sales

Wow! Nicki Minaj has broken the record for highest units sold for the 1st week by a female rap artist. Her album, Pink Friday sold an impressive 371,000 units.Other chart toppers include Rihanna and Taylor Swift. But coming in at #1, yes its ya boy, Kayne West. His album  “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy” sold 519,000 its first week. Glad to see Mr West back!!

Who Owned The Look? Ciara Vs. Nicki Minaj in Alexander Wang Freja Boots

Celebrities seem to love Alexander Wang shoes, especially his lace up Freja boots.

Ciara was first spotted in the knee high open toe boot this summer at Power 105′s Power Live concert in New York while Nicki Minaj wore them last week while promoting her new album “Pink Friday” at Best Buy

was spotted wearing them again on a casual shopping trip, while Nicki Minaj opted to wear hers again while visiting The Jimmy Kimmel Show last night in New York City.  Both girls wore them on two different occasions with two totally different styles but who wore them better?

Rihanna Joins Nicki Minaj on Stage for “Fly”, Plus Keyshia Cole, Drake, Kanye West & More

Last night, Rihanna joined Nicki Minaj on stage to perform “Fly” for the first time at Hot 97′s special Thanksgiving Concert. Rihanna, whose vocals were pretty much on point throughout the song, unexpectedly grabbed Nicki Minaj’s assets before leaving the stage.

Other surprises included Drake, who proclaimed his love for Nicki with an on stage kiss (“I muthaf*ckin love this girl”), Busta Rhymes (for Roman’s Revenge (remix)”  Keyshia Cole (for “I Ain’t Thru”) and Kanye West who appeared during “Monster”. Fabolous opened the show and brought out the likes of Lloyd Banks and Juelz Santana.

Nicki Minaj Launches New MAC Lipstick In Times Square

Nicki Minaj is beginning to rake in the corporate sponsors and endorsements.

Earlier today, Nicki Minaj took over the Times Square MAC Store for the launch of MAC’s new limited edition lipstick “Pink 4 Friday” in honor of her new album. She was dressed in a brown dress from Martin Grant’s 2010 Runway collection paired with python heels.

The new lipstick will be available on Black Friday (November 26th) and will be available for the next four Fridays only (while supplies last).

 

Nicki Minaj Visits The Wendy Williams Show

Nicki Minaj was spotted outside of the Wendy Williams posing and signing autographs for her Barbz and Kenz. She was there to promote her new album Pink Friday which hits stores next week. During the show, Nicki spoke to Wendy Williams about people referring to her as a character or “gimmick”

No, when I first started rapping I felt like I had to be someone. Like everyone was telling me, ‘Oh be this way. You’re from Queens, be hard.’ That wasn’t really me and that wasn’t who I wanted to be. When I changed the people who were around me, I just started being free. You know, I’ve always been animated; I’ve always been crazy. I studied theater.

On the rumors of being engaged

I’m in love with my music; I’m in love with Pink Friday. I’m married to Benjamin Franklin. That’s all I care about.” Hm … “That’s what I tell my Barbz and my Ken Barbz. Don’t chase these boys and all that stuff, go to school, go to college, don’t depend on anybody. Don’t be having babies. Do your thing.

Nicki Minaj looks AMAZING!!!! Love Her!!

Nicki Minaj is the covers subject of Billboard Magazine’s newest music issue. On The cover, the magazine pegs Nicki MInaj “the First Lady Gaga of Hip Hop”, and claims that she borrowed a page out of Lady Gaga’s book when she named her fans “Barbz”.  (Lady Gaga refers to her fans as “Monsters”).

The Cover Story also includes good quotes from Nicki Minaj who reveals that Lil Wayne kicked her out of Young Money in 2009 after she missed the second leg of his “I Am Music Tour” and that she thought her career was over when “Your Love” was first stolen and leaked. “Someone stole it out of the studio and put it on the Internet and I cried because I was mortified. I was humiliated and remember telling Drake, ‘This is going to ruin my career.‘”

Although, Nicki loved the Billboard write up, she took to her twitter account this weekend to clear up the Lady Gaga comparisons in the article.

that was in reference to the billboard mag cover story. (a story i absolutely love but i felt the need to clear that one little thing up) i was underground for a very long time. ppl seem to think i popped up yesterday & started calling my barbz “barbz”. its unfair to assume its ok 2 give everyone their individual props. no need to lump them all into 1. it undermines the work i’ve put in. the work my fans put in

I am totally in-love with Nicki Minaj's new album cover. Nicki Minaj’s “Pink Friday” album cover has hit the web. She takes the pink motif to the extreme: her platform shoes, shoulder-length wig, and tulle skirt all sport the hue.The album, originally due November 23, was pushed up a day to Monday, putting her in direct competition with releases from Kanye West (My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy), Jay-Z (The Hits Collection Vol. 1), and Ne-Yo (Libra Scale).

Rihanna And Nicki Minaj To Release A Song Together

According to reports, Rihanna and Nicki have collaborated on a song together.
The single is called Raining Men, but thankfully it’s said not to be anything like the original. Instead being described as “up-tempo but kind of quirky and funny."

Says RiRi:

"You know I worked with her before on Rated R and she was just writing me some really good ballads and I couldn't wait to work with her again and finally have her on my record.”

As for her thoughts on Minaj, Rihanna had nothing but great things to say. Adding:

"She has a great buzz and she has a 'thing' to her. She is a star and that's why people love her. She's also really entertaining with her visual as well as her lyrics and she has a great melody. I'm really amazed that she can write like that. [Nicki] not only raps but she can write songs too. It was really easy actually. We were going back on forth with the texts on how we were going to get to do it because we were in two different places and had two opposite schedules."

The song will appear on Rihanna’s next album, Loud and I can’t wait to hear it.
