Halloween Costume Ideas

With just two weeks separating us from the tricks and treats of Halloween, it’s crunch time for settling on a perfect costume idea! Here are some music-inspired costumes to rock . These outfits can also be put together with items you already own or found for cheap at your local mall!

For a fun and cool costume, grab a pair of Kanye’s signature shades and start belting “Stronger” to all of your friends. Add blinged-out accessories and casual, classy separates to complete your costume. Another idea: If you’re going with a friend, have them dress as Taylor Swift

As requested by many of you, rising star Nicki Minaj seems to be a popular choice for Halloween costumes this year! Nicki’s out-of-this-world look is easy to emulate – just make sure to find a colorful wig, then add shiny glam extras like rhinestone jewelry and a glittery tunic dress.

There are so many musical couples to pick from, but one of the most stylish is Katy Perry and Russell Brand! Evoke Katy’s over-the-top style with a retro ensemble and a blue wig. For Russell, find some black jeans, a leather jacket, necklaces, and a sheer shirt (this one is women’s, but its oversize so it should fit fine!). Make sure your guy unbuttons his top to show plenty of chest hair!

With the military trend still going strong this fall, chances are you already have a military jacket you could use to become a member of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band! Just add some crazy, colorful pieces like colored denim and combat boots, as well as some jewelry that symbolize their songs, like the octopus bracelet.

One of the most popular Halloween costumes this year is everyone’s favorite little monster, Lady Gaga. This costume is fun because you can be as crazy and unique as you want! Try replicating a famous Gaga outfit, or just combine a few key pieces like sequin dresses, sky-high heels, bodysuits, and hair pieces. To make your statement even more clear, wear these Gaga glasses and there will be no doubt who you are!

Michael Jackson costumes have been a Halloween favorite for a while now. This costume is very easy because all you need are some black pants, white socks, black shoes, and a red jacket! Slip on a single glove and add a fedora and you’re ready to show off your “Thriller” moves

Madonna is another classic costume that is a cinch to put together. Although there are many Madonna looks to choose from, I’ve focused on ’80s Madonna with the costume above. To get this look, think of ’80s clichés like bright neon hues, leggings, cropped and off-the-shoulder tops, tutu skirts, and rosary jewelry. Then just tease your hair, add some retro makeup, and you’re ready!
